feathers in wind

Watched black swan in the theaters today.

and as i tried my best to make sense of what was being shown (and what is left to my imagination) i had this ever growing feeling. You would have been able to understand the movie. you would have aptly fathom its emotions. and may be properly appreciate it. i could have had a wonderful evening with you, watching the movie in theaters and then spent the evening dinner and the journey home, hearing you discuss about it.hear you critique.listen to you speaking

get mesmerized by your view of things...

         ... wish you were here.

         ... wish you were now!

My Name is Bryan ...

Chapter 1

In the beginning there was nothing. nothing but absolute chaos!
2 pathetic RJ's from radio mirchi (cracking pathetic jokes, advertising the dimensions and facilities of Amanora township, trying to cheer the crowd in marathi where hindi or english was clearly the more common language), a pathetic fashion show promoting products of a local band, a unimpressive music and dance show... in short - it was Hell all around us. darkness everywhere.

But we knew that the lord would test our faith...and the strength of our character ;)

And then after a long wait there was Light!

Chapter 2

It was the day we all have been waiting for. We all have walked miles through the dusty road of under construction Amanora township. Pilgrims, in our symbolic blue jeans and black t-shirts. We all queued hours in advance to better our chances of being close to the shrine (read stage). there were guys in their early sixties queuing beside us. No one eyed them with suspicion, no one felt amused by their presence. The lord blessings and his love transcends ages. we all knew that... The call of the divine impresses upon all pure souls and generates the thirst to ... ROCK! that we all knew.

So, (while maintaining proper distance) we welcomed & greeted all men women (n' hot chicks) by exchanging courteous smiles. (except for the chicks, whom we pretended to pay no attention when they were looking at us).

The road to divinity and the ultimate truth of life requires sacrifice**. We were ready! We had fluids and food on the standby. We knew we had to have all the strength we could gather.
Suddenly a helicopter flew by, very low to the ground. We instantly knew time of the essence now. to be more precise, we can't afford to delay our trip to the "restroom" anymore. Otherwise, once the divine ritual starts, It would be all mind over matter from that point onwards.

**(wish we had a dog with us. it would have been so dramatic. perfect mahabharat style)

Chapter 3

...There was Light!

There was a light on the stage. And a figured emerged slowly.

It was all supposed to start at eight. but we all knew time is not a fixed construct. we knew that the lord is never late. we all are just early. So, when the lord decides to descend upon the stage, thats when the clock should strike eight. (we all adjusted our watches accordingly)

A circle of light from the nearby heaven was closely tracing his trajectory. blue jeans. black shirt. we all were on our toes. literally.

and the lord picks up the guitar and approaches the microphone. the big screens projecting his every move.

One Night love affair - he starts the journey with one of his hits. theres no turning back now...

the musical start come to a gradual pause...
the crowd cheers..

"Hello"
cheers continues from random corners ...

"My name is Bryan" - says the man, as if he needs any introduction
the crowd goes wild... we all start to scream his name... he humbly smiled and said

"Here I am, This is me, Theres no where else on earth i'd rather be..."

Deep-Roy Mushrooms

New year new dish!

Ingredients
200 gm Sliced Mushrooms (As Much as you want to risk. we used the entire packet)
2 teaspoon Sunflower Oil
3 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste
2 small onions (finely chopped)
3 tomatoes Tomato Ketchup
2 green chillies
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon butter

Clean the mushrooms until they are white. Warm the kadai and pour in oil and heat up. Finely paste garlic and ginger and add to heated oil. Add the finely chopped Onion and chopped green chillies. Stir the mix till the onion turns brown (not golden as some book might guide you to believe).
Dim the flame, and add chopped mushrooms. add little bit of salt, about a spoon of red chilli powder and as much garam masala as you like. Mix it well and if it gets boring, try slicing the mushroom pieces simultaneously.
pour in some tomato ketchup and mix. Put a lid on it, let it simmer and forget about it until your friends remind you about your dish.

Hide the sense of panic and fear of possible embarrassment and open the lid. If its not all black, you are in good shape. melt 2 spoons full of butter and pour it round the edge. turn off the burner. garnish with coriander.

Serve! Bask In Glory! Make your friends clean the kitchen.
